  12. I have tried the following Modems so far and here are the results: ALL
  13. 28.8's
  14.  
  15. Supra= Bad modem but faxing has no problem
  16.  
  17. Zoltrix=Both modem and faxing are ok, still not a good modem. Tech
  18. support is good.
  19.  
  20. SIGS= Window 95 would not even recognize that a modem exists
  21.  
  22. Motrolla=ok modem ok faxing, excellent customer support, but windows
  23. will install the modem on COM 5 (Which never exists in the first place)
  24. you will have to call their tech support...Extreemly helpful but the
  25. modem part is not fast enough with 28.8
  26.  
  27. USR Sportster: Excellent modem but a hopeless fax card, will not
  28. receive incoming faxes from 90% of the fax machines. There is no
  29. customer support for the Sportster. Please do not waste your time,
  30. money and energy calling the company. IF YOU LEAVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER
  31. YOUR CALLS WILL NOT BE RETURNED! IF YOU STAY ON THE LINE NO ONE WILL
  32. ANSWER YOUR CALL, You will only be spending money on the long distance.
  33. If you send e.mail to USR.  you will not hear from them. I have tried
  34. calling their tech support atleast 10 times. I have the proof of it. If
  35. you are looking for a modem buy it but then be ready to spend another
  36. $200, buying a fax machine.

  38. Bulette: Not a good modem but faxing is ok.

  41. My conclusion: USR makes good modems, but it is a HOPELESS company to
  42. deal with, The Bosses of the company seem to be shameless and hopeless
  43. people who do not care about the postings on this newsgroup. Even
  44. though it is an excellent modem, I would still recommend not to buy it
  45. because if ever you get into trouble, be assured you will not get any
  46. tech support from the USR. If you are lucky, someone might solve your
  47. problem on this newsgroup.
